Visits to concerts, the theatre, places of worship, field centres and museums play an important part in providing a rich education for children at PSM.
The infant and junior children go to the pantomime at Watford Palace Theatre every December and the senior girls attend concerts in London (last year to hear the London Philharmonic Orchestra, The London Symphony Orchestra and attend the world premier of cinemaphonia DSCH to celebrate the centenary of Shostakovich) as well as numerous productions such as ‘Of Mice and Men', ‘Woman in Black', and ‘Wicked'.
We also receive visitors such as the mayor; and other visitors who run workshops such as our Science and Technology Day and our ‘Lion King' workshop to support the children's learning. In Year 5 or 6 the girls spend a week in Devon to enhance the Key Stage 2 curriculum and in Year 7 or 8 the netballers have the opportunity to train in Holland for a week. The Year 8 girls go to Sayers Croft Field Centre for a week and in Years 9, 10 and 11 the girls go abroad to practise their Modern Languages as well as visit the Art galleries to work on their GCSE sketchbooks.
