Sports Newsletter We started the autumn term with an under 11 netball match against Alpha, which we lost 1-6. Better results were to come in the Harrow Athletics Club Cross Country Challenge. We entered three teams, Year 6,Year 7 and Year 8. All the girls completed the mile and a quarter and a special mention goes to Sarah Grey who finished 4th in the under 12 race. As a team, Year 7 finished 2nd overall. The four fastest finishers were Sarah Grey, Amy McMahon, Hedar Kader and Zoe Mills.

In November the Under 11 netballers played St.Hilda's and won 3-2 but lost 9-2 to Alpha despite having most of the possession in the second half.  Also in November we won three further matches Year 6 3-0 against Heathfield, and the under 11’s A&B teams 13-1 and 7-0 against Orley Farm; well done to all the girls.  In January Year 5 & 6 played Alpha Prep; Year 5 lost 10-0, however Year 6 won 4-0.  February saw Years 7&8 lose to Aldenham 10-16, however the girls put up a good fight.   The remainder of the term saw five further matches, three of which were wins for Year 6 against Heathfield 2-8, St. Hilda’s 6-1 and Radlett Prep 2-0.

In Rounders Year 6 trumpeted again, winning their matches against St Hilda’s and Heathfield.  Unfortunately Year 7&8 lost their matches to Aldlenham and Edge Grove.

We have played three football matches during the year of which we have won two against Orley Farm and Alpha Prep and lost one to Orley Farm.  During the Football Festival against Orley Farm we won 3 matches, drew 1 and lost 1.

In the Inter schools Swimming Gala everyone gave 100% and the girls were a credit to the school. Lucy in Year 6 gained a bronze medal in the 25m front crawl and Bethany in Year 3, in her first ever race, gained a bronze medal in the 25m back crawl.

This year all the girls in Years 5 and 6 took part in the Orley Farm Netball Festival. The A team played 5 matches, winning 1, drawing 2 and losing 2, the B team, played 4, winning 1 and losing 3.

Each team had a player of the tournament, for the A team this was Anjali Mavani and for the B team, Jasmine Kirupananthan.

Next term we are looking forward to the inter house cross country competition, netball fixtures for years 7 and 8 and several football matches.
