Nursery

Your child’s early years are crucial as they set the building blocks for his or her future success in full time education along with helping to develop vital social skills. Choosing the right nursery for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. At PSM nursery we offer a stimulating, secure, happy environment with the right balance of learning and play to nurture and develop each child’s individual potential.

Our aim is for your child to feel part of a lively, friendly community where each child can feel confident, involved and valued. We encourage the individual talents of each child and foster a strong sense of values in a multi-cultural environment. We also introduce the importance of good manners, courtesy and a caring attitude towards others.

The nursery is part of Peterborough & St Margaret’s School and is set in the same picturesque grounds. As well as having their own purpose-built facilities, the children benefit from the resources available in the rest of the school and the interaction with the older children. They are important members of our ‘family’ and involved wherever possible in the life of the School.

Early Learning Goals

The high staff-pupil ratio enables our staff to give your child a great deal of individual attention. During the school day they will follow the Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum. This follows six Early Learning Goals, taught through topics:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication, Language and Literacy
  • Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World
  • Physical Development
  • Creative Development
