Independent Schools’ Inspection Report September 2009
The PSM school inspection took place between 21st and 24th September 2009. In addition to the main inspection of Years 1 – 11, the separate Early Years Foundation Stage inspection took place at the same time for nursery and reception.
The report finds that there has been much improvement since the previous inspection, in both the quality of education provided and the standards achieved by the pupils. Their spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness has further improved and is outstanding. The quality of pastoral care is also outstanding and behaviour is excellent.
The inspectors reported that transition arrangements between each key stage are well organised and the school prepares pupils well for subsequent education. The Early Years Foundation Stage was introduced nationally in September 2008 and applies to all children until the end of Reception. We were pleased that the inspector recognised that ‘the vision to have the highest quality Early Years education is being achieved, with staff of very high calibre.’ Inspectors' comments:
‘A high quality education is provided. Pupils are good learners and achieve high standards'
